I confess. Yesterday, I committed a social media faux pas.
I’m an avid believer that shorter is better, and a status that is the length of a full page should be written somewhere else.
So why did I do it?
1. To present my full support for the upcoming University of Houston SGA elections
2. To present why I believe so strongly in the chosen candidates
3. To express the work they’ve accomplished already instead of their platforms
Everyone is tired of hearing campaign promises- whether they become true, whether they are for the whole nation, your local neighborhood or your governing college body. I believe all of the candidates have the potential to do great things- but once in the position, can they do the best job on behalf of their constituents?
Now that’s a different question.
I outlined the successes and a firsthand account of the proven success of the party I’m choosing to vote for. We need someone in these important positions who doesn’t just have the potential to do the job, but has accomplished goals beforehand so we know they can handle the job and expand the position to leave their mark on the University of Houston. You can see the full post here outlining the successes of the Presidential and Vice Presidential candidates.
Voting is in person on Tuesday and Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., and I encourage you to check out UHREDvolution.com.
Also, what else bothers us students more than parking problems? In fact, I don’t think we’re the only ones bothered by it!
Check out this PSA Parody from a friend about Parking Problems and share if you like! It’s funny and more views= higher grades for them!
